Everything you need to know about NowNearby

For safety reasons, exact venue addresses are revealed only to approved participants. The venue must be revealed at least 45 minutes before the start time to prevent the event from being canceled. This prevents unwanted visitors at the location and ensures only committed participants know the exact meeting point.

You can report or block users directly from their profile or from any activity chat. Tap the three-dot menu and select "Report" or "Block". It takes effect immediately—activities of reported users will not be visible in your feed, and blocked users cannot see your activities or contact you.

Cooldowns help maintain quality and prevent spam. If you cancel too many activities as a host or don't show up to activities you've joined, you'll have a temporary cooldown before creating or joining new activities. This ensures everyone is respectful of others' time.

When you request to join an activity, the host reviews your profile and decides whether to approve you. Hosts can see your profile photo, bio, and activity rating. This keeps groups compatible and safe for everyone involved.

Yes! NowNearby is completely free with no paywalls, subscriptions, or hidden costs. All core features—creating activities, joining events, group chat, and more—are available to everyone at no charge.

You must be 18 years or older to use NowNearby.

We're launching in Oulu, Finland on April 25, 2026! Following the initial launch, we'll expand to other Finnish cities and then internationally. Sign up early to be notified when we arrive in your area.

Go to "My Activities" and select the activity you want to leave. Tap "Leave Activity" to withdraw. If you're the host and need to cancel, select "Cancel Activity"—all participants will be notified immediately. Please cancel as early as possible to respect others' time.

NowNearby currently supports English, Finnish (Suomi), and Swedish (Svenska).

After each activity, participants can rate their experience. These ratings build your reputation and help others decide if they want to join your activities or approve you for theirs. Ratings are anonymous to encourage honest feedback.

The chat opens once the host sends the first message. Only approved participants can access the chat.

Activity chats remain available until 24 hours after the activity ends, after which the chat is automatically closed.
